Get your business match fit for the future and ready-prepared to navigate the struggles and successes that even great global brands face, with digital disruption expert and former Lonely Planet executive director and chief technology officer Gus Balbontin.
From a starting role dream job as a designer, Gus Balbontin went on to eventually lead Lonely Planet globally, including its progression from guide book publisher to cresting the wave of an internet and mobile revolution few saw coming. A big thinker who doesn’t let life’s hurdles get in the way of big solutions, Gus shares his knowledge and expertise in transformation and digital innovation to inspire you with plenty of future food for thought.
Raised in the Argentinean Patagonia, Gus knew from the age of eight he was going to travel the world even though he did not know how to make that dream a reality. A travel scholarship at 17 that took him to Byron Bay on the other side of the world for a year only spurred his a mission to travel. It was the first step towards a future that would take him on a 40,000-kilometre journey through South America and back to Australia to ultimately guide Lonely Planet’s future.
