The 2017 Small Business Festival featured hundreds of events throughout Victoria, including seminars, workshops, forums and a bevy of online offerings.

Small Business BIG Ideas celebrated its tenth year in 2017.

With a focus on innovation and technology, Small Business BIG Ideas focussed on helping small businesses thrive in the era of digital disruption.

With keynote speakers Gus Balbontin (formerly Lonely Planet), Dr Amantha Imber (Inventium) and Yvonne Adele (aka Ms Megabyte from the Today Show) Small Business BIG Ideas showed small business owners and entrepreneurs how to bring their  businesses into line with online trends and technologies.

Small Business BIG Ideas also included mentoring for small-business owners and a special networking event led by Yvonne Adele.

Festival Roadshow in Regional Victoria

The Festival Roadshow for 2017, “Learning to Soar”, featured Olympian and entrepreneur Lydia Lassila OAM, who gave an inspirational keynote address over a sumptuous dinner.

“Learning to Soar” toured key regional centres throughout Victoria, including Ballarat, Geelong, Bendigo, Traralgon, Wangaratta and Warrnambool.

Olympic gold medallist, mother and successful businesswoman Lydia Lassila OAM inspired audiences throughout regional Victoria with her story of turning adversity into advantage.

“Learning to Soar” allowed like-minded small business operators to meet and connect and be inspired by a remarkable sportswoman and entrepreneur.

Women In Business Week

2017 saw the first-ever Women In Business Week at the Small Business Festival.

Women in Business Week brought together events throughout Victoria that celebrated and connected women in business throughout the state.  It included events on marketing and leadership, and a range of exciting online options.
